Payment Policy

A strict payment policy is necessary to reduce the financial overhead of operating a business. Furthermore, having a clear understanding of the financial arrangements and payment expectations is crucial to building and maintaining trust and friendships. By adhering to our payment policy, we are able to lower our operating costs and reduce our charges and we believe you will find that our charges are extremely affordable and fair. Please take the time to review our Payment Policy and our Service Offerings.

It is a requirement of Winterville Cremation and Funeral Services that a Statement of Goods and Services be fully completed with both charges and a payment plan with signatures of all responsible parties prior to any services being scheduled or published.

We do offer a variety of payment options for settling funeral expenses:

  • Payment by cash, check or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover)
    • Payment must be made in full prior to any services being scheduled or published
    • To make a payment through our website, please visit our Payment Center
  • Insurance assignment
    • We require that the policy or policy information be left with us and that we complete all necessary paperwork prior to any funeral or cremation service. We must be able to verify that the policy is valid, in force, assignable, and that the death benefit will cover the funeral expenses prior to any service being scheduled or published. We do not accept assignments on death’s with a “Pending” death certificate. Should an insurance assignment be selected, we do require that all Cash Advance items detailed in the Statement of Goods and Services be paid in full prior to any funeral or cremation service.
  • Installment Plans
    • Winterville Cremation and Funeral Services partners with Tribute Loans to make installment plans available to those who pay over time. Tribute Loans partners with a variety of banks to offer competitive rates and terms. We do charge a 5% origination fee for any amount financed through Tribute Loans.

Joint Responsibility

You as an individual are responsible for the total and entire amount of the funeral bill. In the event there exist multiple payers, we may send bills to multiple people, but this division shall in no way relieve you of your financial responsibility for the entire bill. In the event that a payment due by another party is past due, we will ask that you make the payment immediately. If it become necessary to take legal action in collecting the bill, suit may be entered against you even if the action is brought on by the failure of another party to pay. You are responsible for any attorney fees incurred in efforts to collect this bill.

Cash Advance Items

Since Cash Advance items represent monies paid out by the funeral home on behalf of the family and have no mark-up or profit involved, we ask that payment of these items by made by other than credit card.
